Wow! What a glorious swim! "The tide is high and I'm holding on..." The surf's good; clear, refreshing water around 55-ish, and the sun...shining and smiling on us the whole way! My whole body was alive...how cold, how refreshing, the sensation of the water as my hand entered it, the rhythmic sound of my breathing, slicing through the flat, rolling swells both with and against the current. Clear water, clear air, clear mind, body and soul. At first my swim chums were thinking of a stick run, but I kept prodding them for more, so Ruth, Bill, Cary and I swam out to the A. I don't know if the others felt like I did, but I highly suspect they did...you couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces as we went gliding over the kelp forest. There were some expert bull kelp sitings! LOL. Then off to the B, where Cary hitched up the B buoy for a better look (no dolphin play today). Across and over to the outer stick buoys, which all seem to be in the wrong places. More bull kelp and a few yellow tail juvies and then we headed to the quarter (which also seems further than it's supposed to be). It was just so nice...we headed back "over the hill," as Ruth was saying (not so secretly, she wanted to swim over the kelp again), to the A buoy again, where it was glassy, back through the kelp and then in...playing around the sea lions and fun waves (did I mention, in the high tide) coming into shore. I honestly toyed with the idea of going back out when I saw Dana, Kathy and Don...maybe I should have. So blessed...so very blessed.
