Welcome to my swim blog. It's all about my favorite past time and passion...swimming in the ocean, primarily in La Jolla, California, but also wherever the tides take me. I enjoy playing with and watching all marine critters: fish, birds, sea lions and even sharks. The ocean is my home. Welcome to my home!

Dolphin and Diver Swim

Another gray day.  I'm tired and slept too late to swim with the 9 o'clock pod...but the sun came out, and I saw my ol' swim pal Davina on deck!  And here I thought I was going to be the lone mermaid again.  Davina brought her friend Alayne and then Claudia and Diana showed up...another cool pool party with the mermaids and pinnipeds.  We were getting ready to launch and could see a group of dolphin in the lane, so we set out to swim with them.  As it turned out, Claudia and Diana decided to truck over to start their swim at Marine Room and the rest of us started out in the Cove and headed that way in hope of meeting up for a dolphin swim.  Davina was the guide extraordinaire, as Alayne had not been to the Cove (and Davina knows all the ins, outs, tricks, and routes) before.  I could hear the dolphin sonar under water, but we never caught up with them.  Instead an inflatable boat gave us wake and we swam right over a few divers...don't know who was more surprised.  The currents were quick and fun.  Shivering, we opted for the Jacuzzi to warm up afterward.  Thank goodness for the Aquatic Club passes I won at the LJ Cove Swim Club party!  Nice day and a new swim chum  :o)  All is good.
