After an afternoon of appointments and dealing with the AAA, Mom and I went looking for a fish dinner last night and happened upon King's Fish House in the Mission Valley area of San Diego. We were going for an early dinner to avoid crowds and waiting. The last time we ate there was my Birthday a few years ago and it was good, but extremely noisy. Dining early would most likely avoid that.
Mom had the fish and chips with cole slaw and french fries ($16.95), plus a side salad ($4.95), while I opted for the Swordfish Fillet - Picatta Style (sauteed with lemon butter and capers), served with a side of rosemary potatoes and grilled zucchini ($21.95) and Sam Adams Winter Brew. The fish is freshly caught and they own their own distributing company. We both enjoyed the meal. The staff was courteous and Mom got a kick out of being called 'miss' by the waitress, Heather. The lasting impression was that the restaurant was good, but pricey...a place for an occasion, not frequent dining.
