Welcome to my swim blog. It's all about my favorite past time and passion...swimming in the ocean, primarily in La Jolla, California, but also wherever the tides take me. I enjoy playing with and watching all marine critters: fish, birds, sea lions and even sharks. The ocean is my home. Welcome to my home!

The EAC? Not! But Maybe the LJBC...Righteous Dude!

Finding Nemo and the EAC
Marlin: Crush, really? OK, Crush. I need to get to the East Australian Current. EAC?
Crush: [laughing] Oh, dude. You're ridin' it, dude! Check it out!

Love that movie!  Recognize it?  Finding Nemo...as they catch the current and rip closer to Sydney.  Well, yesterday was no different in La Jolla.  Started off with Bruce (sea lion), the loudest barker of the bunch, patrolling and gave me a loud one from about 4 feet away.  It was beautiful sunny day again and a nice ride over to the Shores from A, but on the way back...whoa!   "First you were all like "whoa", and we were like "whoa", and you were like "whoa..."  I was flying past the buoys, first the sticks and then the A.  The current just ripped!!  And I felt myself going faster and faster still.  I didn't want to get off...What a wild ride.  The water temp today was about 54-55 though I never really felt it.  WNW winds (like those) and a bit of texture.
The sweetest part?  Returning to the Cove and the Ghirardelli Caramel Chocolate from LG Mike to go with my Fuji...yummm!
