| A Buoy Before The Storm (photo by Dana Joseph) |
The big winter storm of the season is coming! Cold wind, cold rain, cold water, cold, cold, cold...even snow...in San Diego! That's all you hear on the radio, tv, and dot-coms. It was to hit Thursday, then Friday, now Friday night. But for now, there's a patch of sun shining over LJ Cove and if I time this right, I might just get a nice swim in (smile-wink).
I got down to the Cove around 1pm and the sun was out, but starting to show the ominous signs foretold by the media. The tide is on it's way back in (yea!) and the H2O is a balmy 57-58F (again, I say yea!). But wait! There's more...crystalline clear water with viz to the bottom, even out at the 'B' buoy and not one fish, but two fish, a couple red fish and dozens of blue fish too (Okay, now I'm deliriously recounting my favorite Dr Seuss book and resorting to singing hallelujahs)! To paraphrase the Food Network, "How great is that?" As I left, I guess I was tag-teaming Dana, who, after being let out of her indentured servitude for the day, took the terrific photo at the 1/4 mile buoy (above).
And this is our view after the storm!

Awesome picture, if I might say so myself! What a beautiful day that turned out to be! Managed to just catch the last bit of sunshine. We beat that storm! As soon as I exited the water, the cold wind started a blowin' and the storm arrived with all its fury, complete with flash flooding and hail! Thank goodness for hot tea, a raging fire in the fireplace and a warm cuddly husband or my teeth would still be chattering!
