Welcome to my swim blog. It's all about my favorite past time and passion...swimming in the ocean, primarily in La Jolla, California, but also wherever the tides take me. I enjoy playing with and watching all marine critters: fish, birds, sea lions and even sharks. The ocean is my home. Welcome to my home!

Brrrrrrrr!

Posted conditions 11.29.2010
Today was a perfect example of why I should get a membership at the AC (Aquatic Club)!  It's across the street from the Cove and has a Jacuzzi and Sauna.  Steve made his 1st official post on the group blog today!  I posted this same photo that one of the guys took of me today...I look like nanook of the North!  Waves were breaking 1-3ft going out, but once out there it was pretty flat...and cold.  Officially 55-57F; feels like 55-56F.  There was this dark brown, dark red color in the water near the 1/2m buoy...yucky. I won't say what was going through my mind at that point, but I made Steve swim next to me all the way back in!  Got a nice hug from LG Mike (purely for warmth of course) and drove like a bat outta hell to SDSU's Jacuzzi...aaahhhh!!  Now I feel like a well cooked lobster!

  1. Come up here and try that and you'd be a frozen fish stick (50° this morning)!... But even at 55° I think you're c-c-c-cwazy!

  2. SF Aquatic Park registered @ 48F...now that's a brisk swim. I'd be hard pressed to swim naked in that pond! Who knows?
