Two years ago, was my 1st and last experience swimming the Coronado 4th of July race. The powers that be, claimed the water temp to be 62F...after a pre-race dip with face, feet and hands tingling with pins and needles and swimmers pulling out of the race, we found out the water temp was actually 54F.
This year, the temp was indeed 62F and perfect conditions for a great race. I was joined by the Oak Streeters, who swept the field of medals again...damn, they're good and a lot of fun to hang with.
I ended up getting 4th in my division this year, but more importantly had a marvelous day in the sun and surf.
Later, created a pasta salad for a BBQ with friends...Happy Independence Day!
